As much as I like watching movies, I like to watch movie trailers too. Sometimes, unfortunately, the best part about a movie is the trailers that run before it. The main aim of the trailer is to raise the viewer’s interest in the movie. If the trailer is successful in garnering the viewer’s interest and pulling him towards watching the movie, its purpose is served. Teaser trailers which run for like 15-20 seconds generally pique the viewer’s interest. However the longer trailers, which usually run for 2-2 ½ minutes, tell much more about the movie. These should not give away too much lest it might ruin all the fun. Nor should it be so ordinary that it completely bores the person and he/she loses any interest in the movie. continue

Besides work, most of my time is spent on sports – playing and following. While cheering for Liverpool or the Delhi Daredevils, I’ve often thought about the economics of the EPL (English Premier League) & IPL (Indian Premier League) – both of the leagues being runaway leaders in their respective ball games. continue

I just returned from a trip to the Konkan. For those unintiated about the place, please do check the link. Beautiful beaches, very few people and a union with nature. I had been to Shriwardhan a little beach on that coast with some of my friends from my engineering days. Two days well spent, despite the amount of travelling involved. continue

I went to Lamington Road the other day. Anyone who visits the place regularly will tell you about Grant Road station. And he will talk about the little vada pav vendor who sits right outside. That little package he serves up, bread smeared with his perfect chutney that houses the perfect sized potato cutlet, is a little bite of heaven. I tasted heaven that day, and even as I relished it, I ruminated over what it meant as a business. continue

Radio Taxi is a wonderful service started a couple of years back in the metros of India. Together with the growth in Indian economy there has been an increase in growth for transport services. Since the government has not been able to provide good public transport, most people rely on private transport. continue
