Mahatma Gandhi

The Contest:

Entrants write about an Indian who they think has contributed a lot to India and send it to contribute@strat.in with the subject: Incredible Indians – <name of the indian>

They focus on what the Indian achieved, how it helped India, and most importantly, WHY they did things the way they did (basically
dissecting the thought process and methodology). It’ll help if they provide a unique perspective or some new thought.

The article should have a basic structure and flow, and should be of an appropriate length (800-3000 should be sufficient)

The Judgement

The entries would be treated as regular posts on strat.in and will be posted as such. However, they will be preceded by the Incredible
Indians tag. Original thinking and attempts to bring in unique perspectives will be favoured over run of the mill articles. Also, it will help if the authors talk about Indians whose achievements far outstrip the recognition they have got (although a different take
on famous Indians is acceptable as well).

Each post would get points, which would be decided in the ratio of 70:30 :: Strat.in Judging Team:Audience Poll

Results/Prizes

Results will be announced on Aug 15 and the winner’s article will have the distinction of being our first ever Featured Post.

Also, if any other articles from the contest are deemed worthy enough, they shall also be a part of the featured posts.

The Timeline

We open the contest today. Entrants need to send in their posts as mentioned above. We will accept posts upto Aug 12th, following which the contest will be closed.

Best of luck to all authors

And it would be really good to see some unsung heroes who did a lot for India

Animesh August 5, 2009

Do the contestants need to dissect, as you said – the WHY of things?

I mean, I can use another perpective

Saswata August 5, 2009

Interesting stuff man – would definitely go for it

Arindam August 5, 2009

Animesh, I think the why of things is a much better idea – as they can bring out the environment in which the concerned person worked, and the challenges he/ she faced

kaushik August 5, 2009

Not convinced, Arinda, would go for it using a different perpective

Dear Viewers and Enthusiasts,

Bring out a special context of a hero, and that will always speak about WHY he / she is indeed a hero to the nation. So go ahead and let your thoughts flow. Write in at contribute@strat.in
