I completely agree with you. As in any other business big brands always have an advantage and specially so in finance as the trust issue is paramount.

But what we realize that personal finance or financial planning is not something which has done well so far. The reason is that we are dished out insurance schemes and ULIPs in the name of retirement planning and diversification. This has been my experience with the bank I have savings account with. There is no comprehensive planning. And since so may people have burnt their fingers in equities and MFs lately, there is a growing need of professional advice.

A very nice thought behind the startup for sure. I believe the market is huge and volumes can be very high. One small problem can be though that people want to deal with big brands when investing. Using a startup for investing information sounds great but not for managing portfolio online as people might want a bigger brand.
Just some thoughts, definitely appreciate the effort of the startups at helping people invest.

I agree with you. In India mobile proliferation has been stupendous and tt does not suffer from infrastructural bottlenecks which even internet (broadband) is not immune of. So in future mobile is going to be preferred vehicle for service delivery. In fact we are already moving in that direction.
